During construction, Buildact provides Technical Consultancy and Assistance from before day one till after the final day.
Specification
Our knowledge of the Code and involvement in various international organizations enable us to assist in the preparation of Project specifications and update the old ones.
Whereas general specifications are widely available and usually adopted, we are also involved in writing the specific specification for projects while focusing on the durability and sustainability aspects of structures. Specific specification includes requirements for special aggressive environment (salts, acids, extreme weathers, and soils). Our assistance was very appreciated in writing the specification for some major projects in the Middle East.
Quality Assurance
We use our experience and knowledge to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of construction materials (cement, aggregates, concrete, soils and asphalt), using Quality Assurance programs that will be performed on the finished products. The customer will be updated continuously about the quality and the consistency of the production.
The analysis of the standard deviation and the coefficient of variation of the strength results of concrete samples produced in batch plant is a required task that we perform regularly. It will help the batch plant to adjust the level of control of its concrete production to avoid failure in strength and durability requirements, and to reduce cost.
Pre-pouring meetings are organized to explain the QA program for all parties in the project to increase efficiency and improve the work procedures. Failure to apply QA increases costs, delays and conflicts.
We are involved in site preparation for concrete pouring, testing campaign, test results approval, technical assistance, as well as the monitoring of concrete strength and materials results with monthly reports.
Mix Design for concrete and asphalt can also be conducted and evaluated by our experts taking into consideration different aspects such as durability, strength, workability, pumpability as well as economy.
